Renault Engine Comparative Photos

"The Gordini engine bolts right in"  NOT.   Or at least, not all.    Some examples have different bosses for the engine mounts. 

The top two cases are 821-04 (R-16) atop my 807-13.  (R17 Gordini)  The stock Europa mounting boss locations are those on the 821-04.  The other side is similarly different.  My early Europa S2 case appears identical to the 821-04 and has the same casting number.

The next case is the 843 from a 1983 Fuego.  The casting is clearly different, and it has all the mounting bosses, and is compatible with the stock Europa mounts.
